From a newspaper showing winding Sabine River in 1960s, after it was dammed and as it is escaping its original banks to create the massive 186,000 acre Toledo Bend Lake! According to the caption, which likens the look of the landscape to the Amazonian River, the lake was 2 and a half miles wide as of the time of the photo.
