Hodges Gardens State Park has at least a slight chance of staying open… it is largely up to the State of Louisiana… so anyone who loves the park and enjoys it, regardless of where you live (but especially if you live in Louisiana!), is encouraged to stand up and be counted. This Thursday evening at 5:30 pm, there will be a public meeting at the Sabine Theater in Many for supporters of Hodges (any one who loves the park, enjoys the park, goes to the park…) to express their wishes for Hodges to remain open and not be closed as is planned. Tourism commissions of Sabine and Vernon parishes will be represented, as will other governing agencies and there is also expected to be in attendance some state elected officials who hopefully will see that there is a significant amount of public support for Hodges Gardens. Also, people attending will be able to sign letters of support to be forwarded to legislators in Baton Rouge, who will ultimately determine whether or not to fund Hodges Gardens, so PLEASE try to attend, even if you just come and sign a letter!
