October 18, 1940. Grammar school building under construction in DeRidder, La. Beauregard Parish. Written on photo: Modern grammar school building under construction by WPA at DeRidder. It will be two stories high and will accomodate more than 1,000 pupils. It will contain such modern features as a loud speaker system and a central radio unit which will carry broadcasts to every room in the building.
