December 6, 1939. Athletic field in Dequincy Louisiana, Calcasieu Parish. Panorama. Written on photo: WPA workers have constructed a modern athletic field, with two 18x150 foot timber grandstands, a quarter mile cinder track, football gridiron and baseball diamond, brightly lighted for night play. 40 flood lights. Utilized by several rural schools in Beauregard and Calcasieu Parish. Formerly DeQuincy high athletes used a cow pasture in back of the school. From State Library of Louisiana
