May 20, 1937. School in Ragley, Louisiana (Beauregard Parish). Five graduates of the Kernan High School (Hollinsworth) at Ragley receiving their diplomas during the joint commencement and dedication ceremonies at the new WPA-built school building. Construction of school started: 12/21/1935. Construction completed: 5/27/1937. Mr. T.H. Harris, State Superindendent of Public Institutions, is handing the diplomas to the following students(left to right:) Winston Jackson, Marvin Cooley, Noyes Richey, Hermann Cooley and Miss Mattie Cole. Miss Cole was the Class Valedictorian and Herman Cooley, the Salutatorian. From State Library of Louisiana
