Photo taken inside The Sabine Banner newspaper office (The Banner later became The Sabine Index) circa 1900. The newspaper was located in downtown Many, La. on San Antonio Avenue across from today’s city hall. The building remained there until just a year ago… The building was on the National Register of Historic Places (I believe before it was The newspaper it was the first post office in Sabine Parish). It was demolished on order of the Town of Many because it was in disrepair and the owner never attempted to make needed repairs. What you see in this photo was the newspaper production room, where it all went down. This photo was shared with my by my friend and former publisher / boss, Robert Gentry.
