Construction on new bridge in Logansport, on U.S. Hwy. 84. Contractors are building a two-lane bridge close to the existing railroad bridge to accommodate motorists traveling east from Shelby County, Texas, into Logansport. Next, the existing U.S. Highway 84 bridge, which was built in 1936, will be demolished to make away for another two-lane span to handle westbound traffic. All traffic is being diverted onto the first bridge until construction of the second span is completed.

State highway officials estimate an average of 12,500 motorists daily cross the Sabine River bridge.
