Shreveport Times, July 1966. I’m glad this area has Toledo Bend Lake. It is an incredible lake offering so much to area residents and tourists who visit. Some times, it is easy to forget though that it did not come without significant costs of various kinds. It was hardly smooth sailing in those days. Progress can be painful… This progress certainly was painful to many individuals and families. This article, entitled Bitter Waters Round the Bend, portrays one of the painful stories, of a Sabine County lifetime resident.
