Once upon a time, there was a Bordens Ice Cream parlor in Many! Photo taken in late 1940s. This building was on San Antonio Avenie and located next to the Pearson home (now owned I think by attorney Dan Dyess and next to Foy Motors).
It was a cinder block building which was constructed by Travis or Trave Dees for son “Red” Dees, who operated Red’s Ice Cream Parlor. The parlor was later sold to Bobby Williams and Junior Manasco, business partners.
Their new parlor offered the first curbside service in Sabine Parish. Aubrey Hyde serviced radios and after World War 2, produced table (electric) phonographs that played 78 and 33 rpm vinyl records.
Photo had been shared by Bbvy Williams for a book we did on Many’s history.
