Another couple of old Many High School. I have more information… It was the first high school in the parish to be approved by the State Board of Education, in 1909. Was a two story wood frame building, erected in 1906 at a cost of $3,500. Before that building, the old Presbyterian Church at East Main and Ash served as a school in Many.
The building had three rooms on the first floor— one for high school grade students, one for grammar school and one for primary grade students. Upstairs were an auditorium and a rear room for a lab that boasted nearly $300 of equipment. There was a water well located behind the schoolhouse and a woodpile from which kindling was chopped for building fires.
