I slowed this segment of the mystery flare which showed up in my time lapse last night… I am pretty sure it is an Iridium Satellite flare. Researched a bit and found Iridium 97 (Iridium is a satellite constellation which provides voice and data coverage to satellite phones, pagers and integrated transceivers over Earth’s entire surface) would have produced a flare last night… the flare is caused when the sun reflects off antennas (like fins,or wings) on the satellite. Apparently, this would have happened at 357 degrees azimuth, which is almost exact north, at 36 degrees altitude. Since my camera was pointing directly north, I am guessing that is what this is. There appears to be a puff of smoke after the flare passes, and I have no idea why this is…
